I haven’t even looked through all my pictures from #Hanson’s show in Chicago on Tuesday, but here’s a handful that don’t look too horrible so far considering how high up I was (in more ways than one)..

I wish I could tell you something profound to make a good impression on Hanson, but truth is.. It’s so rushed and uncomfortably formal, it’s not worth getting anxious about. You literally stand in a line and the guys go down the line briefly greeting each person and signing some autographs. You don’t even get individual pictures, just group shots. Just be like “Hey, what’s up?” and hand them whatever you want them to sign and leave it at that. Small talk is pointless because they’ve done it a million times, you won’t say anything they haven’t heard a hundred times. You can tell they’re secretly like “Let’s get this over with, we have real work to do.”
Instead of thinking of something to say or how nervous you are, take the opportunity to just observe them up close and in person. It was interesting to see how much shorter they were than I expected, or that Zac smelled like he just finished soundcheck and a week long bender of not showering haha.
Yuck, upon proof reading my response, it sounds very defeatist. Don’t get me wrong, the guys were VERY polite and I have a fond memory of my M&G. It’s not them who’re the problem, it’s the weird situation of being shoved in a room with a bunch of strangers and forced to communicate with them. I’ve heard about other experiences that were much more chill than mine, so I guess take what I say with a grain of salt.
